100mm Steel Roller Shutters (Low and High Cycle)
APPLICATIONS:
Integrity Doors steel roller shutters are suitable for use in loading docks, car parks, factories and warehouses, schools, pavilions, mining, tertiary institutions, correctional centres, defence force facilities, police stations and courthouses.
Available in different material thicknesses depending on size and application of 0.8mm and 1.0mm. The curtain slat comprises G2 Z275 galvabond steel.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
SIZE: Maximum shutter sizes are 10000mm wide x 8000mm high.
CURTAIN
The curtain is constructed using 100 x 0.8mm or 100 x 1.0 mm interlocking slats in galvanised steel. Slat thickness depends on the opening width (see the manufacturer). Every second slat is fitted with nylon end clips to minimise lateral movement and to ensure smooth operation. For the high-cycle version, 100 x 1.0mm interlocking slats are used.
Note: High Cycle refers to shutters exceeding 20 cycles per day or for car parks securing more than 6 vehicles. Slats can be replaced individually if damaged.
CURTAIN OPTIONS
Multi-hole perforations provide continuous perforation of the slats with 2.41mm diameter holes at 7.66mm staggered centres, providing an effective 33% ventilation per slat (which is slightly reduced by the powder coat finish. Slotting can also be provided with a slot size of 110mm x 40mm, either in vertical rows or a brick pattern, and will provide 22% ventilation per slat. (which is slightly reduced by any powder coat finish).
Slotting can also be provided with a slot size of 115mm x 25mm, either in vertical rows or brick pattern, and will provide 22% ventilation per slat. (which is slightly reduced by any powder coat finish).
Any number of slats can be perforated or slotted to meet the required airflow. The standard curtain finish is galvanised steel, with the option of a powder-coated finish in the Dulux Duralloy or Interpon Contemporary powder coat ranges. Both ranges include suitable matches to the Colourbond colour range. Non-standard colours are available upon request and may attract additional charges.
BOTTOM RAIL
The bottom rail is made either from extruded aluminium up to 6.3m opening width (which can incorporate a weather seal if required) or alternatively from a roll-formed galvanised steel angle, which can also be provided with a weather seal adaptor and rubber seal. A steel 75 x 50 RHS box-section bottom rail is also available for wider openings and can be provided with a weather-seal adaptor and rubber seal.
OPERATION
Chain operation (up to 25.0m²). Electric operation is by a 0.75kW (1 H.P.) single-phase/3-phase motor/gearbox, with a reversing contactor and a standard up, down, stop controller.
Alternatively, for high-cycle shutters exceeding 40 operations per day, electric operation via a direct-drive motorisation incorporating a springless drum and brake motor. Includes a standard up, down, and stop controller.
Motors include a hand-chain override mechanism for emergency use in the event of a power failure. Wiring and commissioning can be provided from a power supply (supplied by others). Access control and power supply by others. A wide range of key switch options, battery backups, remote controls and obstruction detection devices are also available.
LOCKING
Sliding pad bolts (inside or outside) – padlock by others. Suitable for manual shutters only. Chain-operated shutters are locked with a wall-mounted chain lock keeper and padlock, or can be specified with shoot bolts to the bottom rail. Manual locking is not recommended for motorised shutters and is not covered under warranty due to the risk of motor burnout. (unless a safety switch is fitted).
DRUM
The drum is manufactured from mild steel or galvanised steel tube and fitted with end caps. Engineered. Helical coil oil-tempered springs are fitted to an axle inside the drum tube. They are designed to counterbalance the curtain weight when tensioned.
GUIDES
Whilst standard side guides comprise 100mm x 37mm roll-formed steel channel, other options include 75mm x 37mm, and a 100 x 37mm wind-locked guide is also available for additional wind loading and or security.
WINDLOAD SPECIFICATION
These specifications vary for each project based on site location, wind region/terrain category, regional wind speed, internal Pressure Coefficient, and Ultimate Limit State Pressure.
Note: Wind-rated roller shutters cannot be ventilated.
BRACKETS
Integrity Door Services provides two laser-cut mild-steel drum-mounting brackets for each shutter. Brackets are supplied in zinc prime-coated or can be hot-dipped galvanised for certain applications upon request. The door opening must be suitably prepared/designed by others to accommodate the above-mentioned mounting brackets.
